Christopher L. Silversmith
Christopher L. Silversmith was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Miami (B.B.A. 2002), where he also minored in Philosophy. After graduating from college, Christopher pursued business work at a prestigious international school in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. During the year he spent in our nation’s capital, he recognized the numerous benefits of having a law degree and moved back to Florida to continue his studies.
During law school, Christopher was a Senior Associate Editor on the Law Review, participated in the National Tax Moot Court competition, and received the School of Law Scholarship for being ranked in the top 10% of his class. Christopher also earned multiple Book Awards in Legal Research and Writing, Contracts, Mediation and Federal Income Tax.
After graduating from law school, Christopher continued on to the Graduate Tax Program at the University of Florida Levin College of Law (LL.M. 2010). Christopher founded Silversmith Legal in 2015 and concentrates his practice in the area of U.S. Federal taxes with an emphasis on complex estate planning and probate. In his free time, Christopher enjoys spending time in the mountains with his wife, Stephanie, and their dogs, Nacho and Biscuit. He also finds time to swim, golf and play tennis.

Amy M. Akel
Amy M. Akel was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Florida (B.A. 2009), where she also studied Business Administration and French. Amy earned her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law (J.D. 2013) where she gained experience working in estate planning and real estate at a prestigious law firm, in-house corporate law at a national financial services company, and federal and state tax law incentives at the city's film and television office. Confident in her desire to practice in the areas of estate planning, real estate, and business law, Amy continued her legal education at the LLM Tax Program at Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver (LL.M. 2019). Throughout her career in private practice in Denver, Colorado, Amy has worked in estate planning, probate, and advanced tax strategy roles, including matters involving wills and trusts, business structuring, real estate, probate administration, complex wealth transfer planning through tax-exempt trusts, and corporate structuring and strategic tax planning. At Silversmith Legal, Amy is excited to utilize her experience to help individuals and families feel confident and prepared through mindful and creative planning.
In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her partner, Mark, and their dog, Ellie, traveling together and being in the mountains both during the summer and winter. Amy also participates in book club and cooking club with close friends, and enjoys visiting family in Florida and spending time at the beach.
